Someone in a position of power wants us to think that Leonardo DiCaprio is dating Gigi Hadid. Ever since DiCaprio, 47, dumped his last girlfriend Camila Morrone directly after she turned 25, the tabloids have been abuzz with sources claiming that he is “pursuing” Hadid, a prehistoric 27-year-old single mother of one. Do you believe it?

Two weeks ago, a source revealed to InTouch that “Leo and Gigi hooked up a few times this summer.” Yesterday, a source told People that “Leo is definitely pursuing Gigi,” and that “they are getting to know each other.” And Us Weekly hit the jackpot this morning with the news that DiCaprio and Hadid were spotted attending the same party over the weekend. True love?

According to Us, an “eyewitness” saw DiCaprio and the oldest woman he has ever (allegedly) dated “hanging out” at a New York Fashion Week after party on Saturday night. “A second observer noted that the duo were seated at the same table at the event, which was also attended by Venus Williams and Ben Simmons,” the tabloid reported. It's clumsy, jarring, and relies mainly on one stupid twist

Barbarian is a movie held together with duct tape and Elmer’s glue, which doesn’t always have to be a knock against a project if it works. This is especially true for horror movies, where some of the most thrilling entries maintain a certain DIY air about them. Of course, as often as not that less-than-wholly-professional air is manufactured, sort of like a viral marketing campaign.

The campaign for Barbarian was certainly successful, using the kind of classic night vision footage of early screening audiences gasping and screaming that Paranormal Activity perfected over 15 years ago. Other elements also felt familiar: the stark red-and-black poster, the bold serif font on the monolithic title reminiscent of pulpy ’80s mass market paperbacks, and, to top it all off, a lean, almost narratively bereft teaser trailer that leaves you scratching your head, in a good way. Hard not to think of James Wan’s superior Malignant, which was released during the same weekend last year. The difference, beyond Wan’s mastery of melodrama and the truly bonkers but controlled execution of his film’s setpieces, is that Malignant is a film that stands confidently on its own no matter if the main twist has been spoiled. It is, by now, a cult hit even though it failed to make back its modest budget at the box office due the still-stunned theater market following relaxed COVID restrictions. Continue reading

Hmm, I wonder where it will lead him

Gisele Bündchen has concerns. And don’t we all? The supermodel is currently being monitored closely under Divorce Watch surveillance, and the intel gathered therein has brought to light the fact that she is the subject of Elle's October Issue cover story; a cover story in which she speaks openly about the concerns she has regarding her (at the moment) husband Tom Brady, and the dangerous football lifestyle he just can’t quit.

“Obviously, I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” she said, and oh, we know. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”

Yes, we all need to follow our own joy. Some of our joy might lead us to un-retiring in order to spend another year incurring brain damage in Tampa, Florida, and other of our joy might lead us to allegedly taking the kids and moving to Miami. The main thing is that we follow it. Continue reading

This changes everything, except the fact that she's still dead :(

Today with Hoda and Jenna co-host and former First Daughter Jenna Bush Hager, who was apparently having a nepo baby sleepover in Scotland with Prince Charles (now known as King Charles) the night the Queen died, offered viewers some insight into the Queen’s final hours.

Bush Hager had dinner with Charles on the night of September 7 at his residence Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland. Bush Hager slept over, intending to interview the then-prince’s “darling wife” Camilla Parker Bowles (now known as Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles) for television the next day. Camilla didn’t make it home in time for dinner with the mah-MAH’s boy and daddy’s girl, but Charles was allegedly in good spirits nonetheless. The Queen’s flagging health was not an immediate cause for concern at dinner.

“I mean, we had a wonderful evening filled with conversation that felt joyful... and so I think this was sort of a surprise,” Jenna told Today viewers. Continue reading

On Christmas Day, consider taking yourself to see Damien Chazelle’s modest three hour and five minute-long movie Babylon, which advertises itself as a rip-roaring 1920’s-set epic about what else but Hollywood, baby, and the moving pictures! Peep the uncensored trailer if you’re feeling brave.

Initially, we were told that Chazelle’s film was about the fall of silent pictures into the rise of talkies, and that stars Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt were possibly playing real people. Then it turned out it was less about talkies and more about a demented depiction of 1920’s Hollywood, or, to quote the director, “The Great Gatsby on steroids.” Continue reading
