NomadX will open communities off the Atlantic coast of Africa in Cabo Verde, the Brazilian beach town of Pipa and in Swiss villages Braunwald and Liddes, as the digital nomad trend continues to boom.

Just one in seven executives are women at startups in Germany, France and the UK, according to data from salary benchmarking platform Figures. 

Miriam Partington finds out how the situation compares in each country, and what can be done about it.

New data from Vauban, a platform that helps investors raise, structure and then manage their funds, shows that most VCs don't have startup operator or founder experience.

Instead, Europe's VC ranks remain dominated by bankers and PE investors.

So can they really claim to be "hands on" and "founder friendly"?

Crypto has been one of the hardest hit sectors by this year's economic downturn — with layoffs at major scaleups like Blockchain.com and Bitpanda and the collapse of several cryptocurrencies.

But even the survivors haven't got off scot-free. App downloads dropped by 3.5m in the first half of 2022, compared with the first half of 2021.
