Behind the Waterfall

Something seems off. The air isn't humid and you can't hear the waterfall in the distance. Hacking through the jungle, you finally arrive at the waterfall ... with no running water.

The rocky entrance, normally all rushing water and chaos, is dry, gaping. You've slipped on the way in before; not this time.

Normally loud, wet, energized, the cave behind the waterfall seems stiff, dusty, lifeless. The end of the cave is brighter and feels closer than before. As you approach, you notice the towering black wall is now covered with bright green moss.

Coming up to the wall, the air is fresh. It smells ... clean. Sterile. It's well lit, and yet, when you turn your head up to face the towering wall ... you see a ceiling. Modest height, bright, covered with the same green moss. Nothing towers in here anymore. It's just a small, comfortable but mossy room.

Looking around, you see a workshop table. Textured papers are sprinkled about, notes hastily sketched onto them:

MBIGBAB ... cutting close to the grain ... 7 +/- 2 ... content mountain ...

There's no other sign of me here. It's a nice space, comforting, relaxing -- it makes you sleepy. There's a soft, mossy couch in the corner. You could see how the time could slip away here ...

...

You sit up abruptly. Apparently you dozed off! It's dark now. As you stumble in the darkness, you realize you're running late and quickly make for the exit.

Just as you reach the doorway of the dark, mossy room, a cold chill runs down your spine. You realize you're not alone. Suddenly a chilling, feminine voice whispers directly behind you:

"Witchmore"

As you turn to face the voice in the darkness, the green moss bursts into flames.
