Cheney: 1/6 panel won’t let Trump turn testimony into circus.

The subpoena, issued Friday, calls on Trump to hand over documents by Nov. 4 and provide testimony “on or about” Nov. 14. It is unclear how Trump and his legal team will respond. He could comply or negotiate with the committee, announce he will defy the subpoena or ignore it altogether. He could go to court and try to stop it.
    ...
Trump reportedly had told associates he might consider complying with the subpoena if he could answer questions during live testimony. [Rep. Liz Cheney] said the committee would not allow Trump’s testimony to turn into a “food fight” on TV. Her office made clear later that she and the Jan. 6 committee were not ruling out the possibility of live testimony.
    ...
There remains little legal advantage for Trump to cooperate with the committee at a time when he faces other legal battles in various jurisdictions. It’s possible that Trump’s lawyers could simply opt to run out the clock on the subpoena if they go to court to try to squash it as the committee is required to finish its work by the end of the year.

Would you fingerprint your child if their school gave you the option?

Context: Texas distributes child identification kits, which contain a section for fingerprints and DNA samples.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

Yes - The DNA kits we have used do not go to the government or are held by the school. We hold onto the kit and update things like photos and fingerprints as necessary, and if our child were to go missing we could hand it over to police for help.

No - No, probably not. I don't see any reason for the state/fed to have children's information anymore than they should have my information. That be...
