What’s Buzzing in WordPress 💖

Cool New Launches… trying to fill the gap of missing active install growth chart for plugins, WP Rankings by the team at AyeCode (Stiofan O’Connor and Paolo Tajani), provide an easy way to see plugin(s) rank and changes. While Ovidiu Maghetiu from WPCodeBox has launched WPCodey code generator online tool, Jonathan Jernigan made a video previewing WPCodey.
New Plugins… Jordy Meow has released SEO Kiss (Keep It Simple Stupid SEO) plugin that focuses on the main SEO settings of meta title and description – it appears to have the same end goal as seen in the Slim SEO plugin. Also, a simple way to sell access to post content with only Stripe with this new Restrict With Stripe plugin from the team behind the popular Paid Memberships Pro plugin.
Plugin Milestones… the Visual Composer plugin is celebrating an impressive 2,000,000+ downloads milestone. Ronald Huereca’s Simple Comment Editing plugin has achieved 1,00,000+ downloads. Mihai Iova’s SliceWP plugin crossed 3K active installs, and will it hit 4K in 88 days? While the almost new, Simple Cloudflare Turnstile plugin by Elliot Sowersby has crossed 500+ active install figure.

WordPress 6.1 Release Bits 👍

WordPress 6.1… release Misha (named after a Soviet-Norwegian jazz pianist Mikhail “Misha” Alperin) is now available for download. Here is the official blog post explaining all the new things. See more coverage by Courtney Robertson on the GoDaddy blog and by Kiki Sheldon in a blog post at iThemes.

WP 6.1 and PHP Support… Joost de Valk highlighted that WordPress 6.1 is now compatible with PHP 8.2, and that compatibility with 8.0 and 8.1 has improved, courtesy of contributions by Juliette and Sergey Biryukov. Note: PHP 8.2 is beta support, for now, more details are in the official core handbook.

Extended WordPress Buzz 🔥

Big Updates… Elementor has released the much-anticipated loop builder feature allowing you to create post loops with more control over specific content types within it. Divi and new features go hand in hand, check the latest Divi Code Snippets feature to save code snippets in the cloud and sync them.
Pricing Updates… TutorLMS has updated prices, with one website plan going up from $149 to $199 along with changes to every yearly and lifetime plans (there will be no change for existing users). Also, WP All Import has announced its plan to close the lifetime license option in the near future.
New Integrations… TutorLMS plugin users can now power the affiliate system with new integration from the AffiliateWP plugin. APPExperts Version.1.3.3 has announced integration with PeepSo for an expanded social networking experience within the app.
New Addon Releases… Woostify version 1.7.1 for WooCommerce users has released a Pre-order addon that allows customers to place an order for your upcoming products before they are available. While PeepSo has a new file uploads addon allowing the upload of any file like PDF, TXT, ZIP, DOCX, or PSD.
Images & Theme… Bertha AI is known to generate your website copy, now it can also generate relevant images with the power of AI, try it! Also, Anders Norén has released a new block-based Oaknut theme for Linktree inspired page containing your social links.
