Voting gets underway in the 2022 midterms

Canada accuses China of election spying

• Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said China and other countries attempted to interfere in Canada’s elections. [BBC]
• The announcement follows reports that Beijing tried to influence 11 lawmakers, from both Trudeau’s Liberal Party and the opposition Conservative Party, in the 2019 election. [Global News / Sam Cooper]
• Canada’s federal police are also investigating China-installed "police stations" that have popped up in Canada and around the globe to silence Beijing’s critics. [Guardian / Leyland Cecco]
