Today we’re listening to Arovane, a German ambient artist and sound designer. Thanks to Bram for the recommendation. Growing up in Hamelin, Arovane heard Kraftwerk on the radio and became fascinated by technological creation and manipulation of sound.¹ Since the ‘90s he’s put out a wide range of electronic music, and today we’re playing two relatively recent ambient records. Reihen from 2021 is a subtle and profound record full of delicate, warm synth tones. Skal_Ghost, which came out earlier this month, is a collaborative album with Taylor Deupree. During the pandemic, the two artists traded project files made up exclusively of sounds from Nonlinear Labs’ C15 synthesizer.² Reihen - Arovane (40m, no vocals) Skal_Ghost - Arovane & Taylor Deupree (50m, no vocals) Have a great start to your week.
