Tim Ferriss - 5-Bullet Friday — December 30, 2022

Hi All!
Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Please feel free to forward this along to friends.
What I’m listening to while working
“El Jardin” (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music) by Hermanos Gutiérrez (@HermanosGMusic). Thanks to Michael C. for the great recommendation!
Short blog post I’m reading
“The leaf blower parable” by Seth Godin. Please, someone fix this!
What I’m doing over the weekend
2022 Past Year Review. I’m sometimes asked how I approach New Year’s resolutions. The truth is that I no longer approach them at all, even though I did for decades. Why? I have found “past year reviews” (PYR) more informed, valuable, and actionable than half-blindly looking forward. Here’s the step-by-step process I follow.
Pair it with “I’ve Done Tim Ferriss’s Past Year Review for 5 Years. Here Are 22 Lessons I Learned” by Chris Cordry.
What I’m watching
“The Most Vicious Heavyweight In History - Jack Dempsey.”
Quote I'm pondering once again
“I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, ‘If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.’”
— Kurt Vonnegut
You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with “fear-setting,” an exercise I do at least once a quarter, often once a month. It is the most powerful exercise I do. My TED talk gives you an overview, and the text here provides more detail, step-by-step instructions, and real-world examples.
And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @tferriss and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
Much love to you and yours,
Tim
P.S.
The AI ART Competition winners have been announced! I’ll put together a much more detailed blog post, but... holy shit. This whole experience has blown my mind, and there is much more to come. My sincerest thanks to all who tossed their hat in the ring! 🙏
P.P.S.
This week also brought two new episodes (#7 and #8) on The Legend of CØCKPUNCH™ podcast. You can find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
