The Best Thing is our weekly discussion thread where we share the one thing that we read, listened to, watched, did, or otherwise enjoyed recently.

On Monday, our kiddo’s daycare was closed and we both had the holiday off. We took advantage of this rare occurrence to try something new as a family. We visited the ice skating rink at The Wharf in DC. It was sunny and a balmy 50 degrees. A glorious day to watch our kiddo’s fearless side come out as she took to the ice. It didn’t take her long to push dad away and say she was ready to try on her own with just the helper penguin.
