Odd Jobs - Odd Ways to Get Revenge
Jen “Odd” Glantz here! I stumbled across one of the oddest businesses out there and it happened by accident. I was on an influencer platform looking for new brand campaigns to apply for. I use this one, btw, and it’s OK…not the best…just OK… And that’s when I found a business looking to pay an influencer $500 to promote their bizz. While I’m not their influencer and I won’t be getting the $500, I find myself so intrigued by this business (I’ll share it with you below). It’s in the “revenge” space, which can be an ugly and at times - funny - industry. Let’s explore businesses in this space today. Ready to dive into it all? PS. I have ONE open spot for 1:1 coaching this month. These go fast so if you ever wanted to work together on a life-career-side hustle strategy, I’ve got your back. Today’s newsletter is sponsored by an awesome tool - SunsamaOne of the biggest things I’m working on this new year is getting better with managing my time and my to-do list. Lately, I’ve found myself “clocking out” of work at 10:30pm, which is way past my bedtime. When I look at why that’s happening, it’s mostly because I’m not as organized as I need to be. For the past few months, I’ve started using Sunsama, a virtual planning assistant that has helped me establish a routine and pulls in my emails, calendar events, and tasks into one single app, so I know exactly how to focus on my day ahead. Super happy with the platform. Give it a try and plan your day in Sunsama. Odd Ways to Get RevengeI have to start this off by saying I absolutely don’t endorse any of these businesses at all or think they are doing anything the world needs. However, the revenge space is an interesting one. Could you create an odd but good business in this space that doesn’t hurt people but helps them? Yes, please. I think you could and it would do so well. I have been brainstorming this ever since I came across this business……..which kicked off my fascination in this space. Something interesting about this revenge space is a lot of these companies promise you that when you buy from them and send a person the revenge gift, it’s completely anon and nobody will ever know it’s you. So let’s explore other companies too. Glitter Grenade - while this is a gift I’d be thrilled to get, some people would think it’s simply just one big mess. Bag of dicks - some might find this repulsive and some might find this funny. Middle Finger in the Mail - you can send this card annon so nobody knows it’s from you. Not a nice thing to do. But people do it. But on the flip side, you could also send a positive and helpful gift to the person who has been heartbroken and needs love: Like these gifts or a HappyBox.
