• Big Focus on UX… Astra theme had a big version 4.0 release this week with a full revamp of the UX of the settings panel and a lot of other enhancements. Yoast is also gearing up for a complete overhaul of the settings UI, with version 20.0 scheduled to release this Tuesday, Jan 24, 2023. Also, making things more awesome – the Yoast team has open-sourced the UI library.
  
  
• Product Updates… check the new Page Transitions option to add animated transitions between form pages and automatic page progression in your Gravity Forms. Also, WP Migrate 2.6 has introduced full-site exports that support the bundling of media, themes, plugins, and other files into a single ZIP archive.
  
  
• Business of WP… Jason and Kim Coleman, co-founders of the Paid Memberships Pro, have made an investment in LifterLMS, this partnership will extend to other aspects of LiferLMS like design and business. While Derek Herman, previously the CTO at WXP and a WordPress core contributor, is now the new CTO of Yoast.

1. Core Updates… WooCommerce Blocks 9.4.0 has added the new Local Pickup option under shipping settings with the ability to list multiple pickup locations for the user selection. While the Gutenberg 15.0 update has added new paste styles option and the new sticky position block support.
   
   
2. WP Perspectives… Is a gold rush coming in WordPress space courtesy of block and other changes? Well, Justin Ferriman highlighted this, taking into account the flourish of blocks like plugins. While Rob Howard at MasterWP thinks otherwise – blocks aren’t yet there to cause a gold rush! What do you think?
   
   
3. WordCamps Action… the first WordCamp to happen in Africa in 2023 is WordCamp Entebbe, scheduled for March 10, 2023, at Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Also, tickets are available now for the upcoming WordCamp Europe 2023, scheduled for June 08, 2023, in Athens, Greece.
