The repository pattern is a bit controversial on how it is being used in Laravel projects. Different developers have different needs and motivations. Some are adhering to the textbook definitions and others are using it to dump their queries.

Database Seeders are a feature of Laravel you don't read much about. Instead of only seeding data for a Category-model, the seeders generate users, teams, posts, purchases, subscriptions or what else is important in the application.

Let's say you have a blog and have posts ordered by their published date. Later you decide you want to pin certain posts. Pinned posts should be displayed before any other posts regardless of their published date.

Fortunately, there are ways to work around the issues with long-running jobs in Laravel. Let's explore a couple of solutions (the last one is the good one so keep reading). For this article let's use the example of a job that uploads all images from a blog post into an S3 bucket.
