Product Collective - 📣 Important changes

As the new year approached, we at Product Collective took some time to assess what was working for the 45,000-strong community, and what needed improving. We’ve been grateful that the community has grown so much over the past couple of years alone! But let’s face it – a lot has changed over the last few years. We’ve realized that the way we serve our community should probably iterate over time – so we’re making several changes to help us do that better.

Some of those changes include introducing new programs and offerings – but also sunsetting some that previously existed.

First, we want you to know that we’re discontinuing the Product Collective Slack:
Starting February 10th, we’ll be discontinuing the Product Collective Slack channel. While it’s been a fun way to keep people connected, the reality is that Slack just isn’t built for fostering communities. It’s not only a challenge to properly moderate it, it doesn’t truly perform the job that it was intended to – to help product people build relationships with each other.

The good news is that there’s now a better way to build relationships year-round.
You may have recently noticed our announcement about Product Collective Pro. In many ways, it’s much different than Slack. The focus isn’t to have thousands of product people shouting to get heard on a few channels. Instead, it’s intentionally being kept small enough that you can truly build relationships with a tight-knit group of people who are invested in helping each other grow. Plus, there are monthly live sessions, quarterly workshops, and a whole lot more. And for those that want a much more lightweight way to connect, you can still do so on LinkedIn.

We’ve also revamped the way that we help those looking for new roles in Product.
You may remember the old Product Collective Job Board. Well, now – we have Product Collective Talent. Yes, there’s still a job board. But even better, you can create a profile and choose to accept invitations from recruiters to connect with you.

There are more ways than ever to learn with us at our conferences, too!
We now have five conferences taking place year-round – with three in-person, and two Virtual. So when you need to take the time to step outside of your day-to-day, learn from the best of the best in product, and find that inspiration to build better products… we’re here to help you do that! You can learn more about all of our upcoming conferences (in-person and virtual) here.

We’ll continue to be listening to our community throughout the year to make even more improvements. So if you have any to share, let us know. We’re always listening!

Thanks for being a part of Product Collective,
Mike, Paul, and Rebecca
