For this reason, you’ll have to make a tough decision. Should you hire a tax professional or not? Your choice depends greatly on the complexity of your business and prior tax knowledge. 

If you choose to hire a tax expert, you should ask them the following questions beforehand.

2. What types of licenses or certifications do you have?
   
   
3. Do you have experience with my type of tax return and industry?
   
   
4. What is the cutoff date to schedule a tax appointment with your office? 
   
   
5. What is your typical process? Do you meet clients in person or virtually?
    
6. Are you available after tax season if I have additional questions or needs? 

If you’re on the fence about whether you should hire a tax pro for your business, I strongly suggest you do. 

A tax professional can help you not only during tax season but also long after Tax Day. For instance, if you need assistance with an audit, require tax planning, or have a tax-related question, an established tax relationship is a great asset.
