UNDRGRND DIGS is a periodical feature showcasing artists that the UNDRGRND curators dig. We sift through the social media and NFT platforms to find the best artists waiting to be discovered. UNDRGRND believes in the artists we feature and we will purchase NFTs from each artist featured.

Rugen

Rugen sprinkles negative space filled with colorful dots that shape the objects in explicit detail. In The naked truth, we can see each wrinkle of the shirt; The last drip perfectly shapes the melting face falling onto the silhouette of an umbrella. In other works, these dots represent the connections to others. Dance Rhythm shows the fluid motion we share when dancing together. With Rugen, contrast and what is missing is precisely the point.

DR.ROBO7

The king reigns over all DR.ROBO7 creates. Featuring a character in almost every piece could make art feel stale and unoriginal. However, each work feels fresh and original. Whether the Basquiat sketches (AbstraKing: Nocturne), pop-art graffiti (AbstraKing IV: IV), or minimalist scenes (AbstraKing II: I), DR.ROBO7 shows they’re the king over a wide range of styles.

André Oliveira Cebola

Can a glitch be purposeful and rhythmic? André Oliveira Cebola intends to make them as such. André creates glitches with intent, none are out of place or accidental. His series ASCII features deliberate changing colors, some in clockwise rotation so perfect nothing is accidental. Even his series Tempermental is intended to feel unstable and fickle, the crisp lines and precision of motion reflect the exact opposite; these glitches are perfection.

Jurubis

It seems fitting featuring an artist with a series showcasing a large collection of analog equipment and media. Jurubis’s series attachment, speaks to our timeless need to own and collect. Similarly, his series inanimate objects features stacks and stack of antiquated equipment that an imaginary collector cannot bring themselves to discard. Each series can serve as a metaphor for the crypto art space and why many of us are here continuing to collect.

Atlan Coelho

It’s difficult to frame Atlan Coelho. His work features monochromatic hyper-detailed sketches, colorful surreal worlds, and abstract portraits with a street-style influence. His extensive series No Silence features silouhettes of black people with a variety of quotes celebrating black strength and community. Unleashing his talent into the crypto art space, Atlan seems to have a plethora of back catalogs of art waiting for more people to discover.
