It’s been a week of differing fortunes for two of Europe’s fintech big hitters — Revolut and Klarna. The former reported it hit profitability on Wednesday while the latter posted its biggest annual loss to date — $1bn. • Paris-based SESAMm, a natural language processing fintech that offers data insights to inform ESG investments, has raised €35m from investors including Elaia and BNP Parabis' VC arm Opera Tech Ventures.

💰 Series A

• StudentFinance, a Spain-based fintech that offers financing options for career upskilling courses, has secured $41m (including $8.2m in debt) from the likes of Seedcamp and Monzo founder Tom Blomfield.

• Germany's Edurino, a game-based digital learning platform for children, has raised €10.5m.
• Belgium-based Henchman, which automates time-consuming tasks like contract drafting for legal professionals, has raised £6m.

💰 Pre-seed / seed

• German Secfix, which helps small and medium-sized businesses meet cybersecurity standards, has secured $3.8m in seed funding led by Octopus Ventures. 

• Wales-based techbio startup Antiverse, which is developing a drug discovery platform using antibodies, closed a €2.8m round. 

💰 Undisclosed 

• Spain-based Voicemod, a generative AI startup creating real-time synthesised voice effects, has secured a $14.5m.
• Simulands, a Switzerland-based startup building realistic medical training simulators, has secured €10m.
