Odd Jobs - Part-Time Jobs That Pay Full-Time Cash
Jen “Odd” Glantz here! I read an article all about how part-time work is gaining popularity. People want to work less and earn money. According to the article, 1.2 million people ditched the 40-hour work week for a 20-hour one. What a goal, right? I feel that completely right now. I’m about to have a..baby…and I don’t have maternity leave (life as an entrepreneur isn’t always so glamorous). I want to keep working because I honestly love what I do, but time will be crunched significantly when there’s a baby in the room. So I wanted to share a list of part-time gigs that pay full-time money in case you need a break from the 40-90+ hours you’re working right now. Or in case you just want to daydream about a life where you work 20 hours and spend the other 20 hours of new free-time doing something exciting, like scuba diving or even just taking a nap (can you tell i’m about to become a mom??). Scroll to read on! PS. If you’re in need of a pick-me-up, I have some good ones for you. Try out one of my best-selling interactive online courses where you receive 1:1 feedback on assignments, strategies, and game plans. Pick from: personal branding, public speaking, or even how to start your own side hustle. Part-Time Gigs That Pay Full-Time Cash MoneyHere’s the deal:I’m going to share a bunch of jobs with you that pay a lot of cash for the short amount of hours you might have to work. But as with everything in life, some might sound too good to be true or not really pay that much, unless you end up working overtime or rely on tips. I also picked gigs that you don’t need a certain degree for and that most people could qualify for or do. If you want a full list of 40 part-time gigs that pay - and require different skills/degrees, check this out! Do your research before you pack up your cubicle and take on a 20-hour a week gig. And as always, find ways to diversify your income. I have 7 sources of income a month. That might sound like a lot, but it helps me scale my income and I don’t take on the risk of not making any cash if one of those income streams gets paused or abruptly ends. So here’s the list. How to Land a High-Paying Part-Time GigLet’s make this work for you. Here’s how you can kick-off the process of finding a good paying part-time gig. First, think about your degree, experience, and identify transferable skills. The skill part is the most important part. Just because you’ve spent your career doing a certain job doesn’t mean you’re not qualified to do anything else. This is what I help people with during my 1:1 coaching. Figure out what you’re good at, what skills you have that have made you succeed in your current role, and then see what other industries need people with those skills. Teachers make amazing project managers. Chefs do too. Also think about what you’re interested in. If you want to maximize a part-time job, make it something you’re passionate about, especially if that job’s payment relies on tips. It will help you earn more and enjoy working during the hours when you’re working.
