In the ‘90s, Harakami got involved in the burgeoning techno scene, picking up the Roland SC-88 Pro as his weapon of choice.¹ Like Aphex Twin, Harakami used the familiar sonic ingredients of dance music in idiosyncratic and non-obvious ways, creating outré and endearing music.
