Are robots more poetic than humans?

  • That was Taylor’s question as he saw Alandra Markman seated on the sidewalk, writing poetry upon request on an old typewriter at the West Seattle Farmers Market.

  • Creating poetry and musical lyrics is a common use case for ChatGPT, the popular chatbot from OpenAI that uses natural language technology to respond to queries and instantly produce content. 

  • So we gave the same prompt to Markman and the robots, including GPT-4, the latest and more advanced version of ChatGPT that OpenAI released this week. Here’s what happened.

  • But analysts with PitchBook wrote in a report this week that the timing of SVB’s collapse “could not have come at a worse time for the VC market.” The chaos surrounding Silicon Valley Bank and the larger upheaval in banking coincides with an already sluggish venture capital investing landscape, following record funding levels in 2021.
