Can Liverpool bounce back from Bournemouth defeat to secure top-four spot?

Four wins in five, no goals conceded and a 7-0 drubbing of Manchester United, it was as if the first six months of the season had never happened. Then came Bournemouth and it was January all over again.

But just as the emphatic win over United was only worth three points, so the desperate defeat against the Cherries only saw three points slip from the Reds’ grasp. And, with 12 fixtures remaining, there is still ample opportunity for Jurgen Klopp’s side to force their way into the top four.

Of course, with fixtures against Manchester City and Arsenal to come inside the next few weeks, there is also ample opportunity to slide out of the Champions League picture altogether.

But now is not the time for negativity, not with 36 points to play for.

Seventy-one points took fourth last season and you can see if Liverpool can get there with our fantastic predictor tool here. Give it a go, Reds fans.
