DIY Protection with Feynlab

[Sponsored] Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, and Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing it with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months.

FSD

Tesla gradually reducing the nag
In December, Elon Musk promised on Twitter that Tesla would offer an option to turn off the nag for those with a high number of miles on FSD Beta. In response to a question from DirtyTesla, Elon stated that Tesla is gradually reducing the nag proportionately to improve safety.

Tesla FSD 11.3.4 vs Waymo Driver 5 📹
It's really interesting to watch this side-by-side video comparison of Waymo and Tesla taking the same route. Some of the main differences that stand out are that Tesla takes the freeway while Waymo stays off of it, and Tesla requires the driver to push the pedal in one instance. As a result, the Tesla completes the trip in approximately 15 minutes, while the Waymo takes 20.

Software Updates

Tesla adds Supercharger pricing and histograph to mobile app 📷
Tesla has added new features to its mobile app, allowing users to view Supercharger pricing and histograph data. This update enables Tesla owners to monitor their Supercharger usage and plan their charging schedules more effectively. The histograph feature provides a visual representation of charging trends over time, while the pricing feature displays the cost of charging at different Supercharger locations. These features help enhance the overall convenience and usability of Tesla's Supercharger network.

2023.12 is going out to employees 📷
The new release, currently being rolled out to employees, includes several UI changes, such as:
  • An option for larger text size, which many people had requested
  • Improved banners for points of interest, which now feature images
  • Customizable scroll wheel
  • Gear chimes and other changes.

A closer look at steering wheel customization and text size adjustments 📷
As mentioned earlier, the software update 2023.12 comes with a range of new features and improvements, including the option to customize the steering wheel controls and adjust text size in the vehicle's user interface. With the new update, drivers can now personalize the functions of the scroll buttons on the steering wheel, providing greater control over the vehicle's various systems. Moreover, the update also allows adjusting text size in different parts of the vehicle's UI, such as the instrument cluster and infotainment display. It's exciting to see new ways of personalizing menus being introduced.

Price and tax incentives

Tesla cuts Model S/X prices by up to $5,000
Tesla has announced a price cut for its Model S and Model X vehicles. The company has reduced the price of these vehicles by up to $5,000, making them more affordable for potential buyers. The price cut comes as Tesla aims to boost sales of its premium electric vehicles, which face stiff competition from newer electric vehicles on the market. The announcement generated significant buzz among Tesla fans and potential buyers, many of whom were excited about the prospect of purchasing a Model S or X at a reduced price point.

Tax incentives after April 18
Tesla has updated its EV incentives page to reflect the changes that will come into effect after April 18, 2023. This update confirms that both the Model 3 and Model Y will continue to be eligible for the $7,500 tax credit after April 18th. However, the credit for the Model 3 SR will be reduced to $3,750.

Kudos to the owner of this sheet for meticulously tracking the price changes over time.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.

  • UI - User Interface
