Danny Miranda - Interview With a Creator vol. 2 | #92
Danny Miranda - Interview With a Creator vol. 2 | #92On his typical day as a podcaster and getting starstruck by a guestHello, this is Celeste and welcome to the Letters for Creatives newsletter. Thank you of you who subscribed since the last one. Subscribe and join them to receive tips and resources on writing, creativity, Interview With an Artist and Interview With a Creator series. Previously on the Interview With a Creator series:Alisa Bacon on her digital garden and creative process I have followed Danny Miranda Twitter for quite a while. He has recorded more than 340 podcast episodes since September 2020. His podcast is very insightful as he always asks the deep questions and gives his guests space to tell their stories. He has interviewed incredible guests including Derek Sivers (listen it here), Paul Millerd (here) and Nik Sharma (here), some of my favourites from his podcast. The episode where he talked with Andy Frisella, who created 75 hard challenge is here if you are interested. I got so excited when he agreed to be in the Interview With a Creator series. He has inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and I am planning to interview other big names in the writing and creative space. Subscribe if you would like to receive upcoming interviews. You can find Danny Miranda on his podcast, YouTube, Twitter, Substack and Instagram. It is obvious that your podcast is blowing up on Twitter. How does it feel that time kinds of catch up with your hard work? My podcast has barely scratched the surface of what it will become. It’s great that some people are starting to recognize it. I’m grateful for that. But it hasn’t even started. What would your 35-year-old self say to your current self? Keep going. You are laying the bricks right now. You are in the stage of chasing a dream. Stay focused. Keep your eyes on your own paper. Other people’s progress is unrelated to yours. Describe the moment that you are most proud of. Any moment I am tapping into the present. What is your favourite podcast episode so far? The next one. Is there anything that you are looking to learn lately? Always how humans think. Entrepreneurship. Psychology. People who are obsessed. People who have a vision for the future. If you like this series, feel free to subscribe. Share with your friends on Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Email or click the ❤️ button. You usually have your notes during interviews. Have you ever done improvisation and asked a relevant question? Most of the time I use notes because I want to be able to quote someone directly. But often I go into interviews without any notes. I enjoy testing different styles and I’m excited to keep doing that. Are you a one-man show or have a team to research on your guests? How long does it often take you to research for each episode? I am a one-man show. I have recently added Video King Pablo to the roster who edits all the episodes. He is a legend. Usually, I devote anywhere from a few hours up to 20 to learn about someone’s past. If you appreciate my effort of researching and working on this interview for 10 hours, consider upgrading to get full access to writing resources and creative challenges. You can give a gift subscription if reading this reminds you of a friend.
