The market is continues to be as stable as a one-legged stool. As we re-enter "bank season" again, investors continue to grow more weary.

Even with that, Softbank seems to be marching ahead with an IPO for its chip making division, Arm Ltd. Arm plans to sell its shares on Nasdaq later this year, hoping to raise between $8 billion and $10 billion which would make it the largest IPO of 2023. They are being prepped by the dreamteam of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays aaannnd Mizuho Financial Group.

IPOs are down 22% this year, but on top of this, Johnson & Johnson are preparing to list its consumer health business in New York next week, hoping to raise about $3.5 billion. So, who knows, is the IPO market is starting to thaw, or is it just wishful thinking?

🤑 At the Milken Institute Global Conference (the who's-who of big finance and tech), investors are shifting away from stocks and real estate, and shifting into fixed income and bond funds to make that sweet sweet yield while they wait for a better pitch. They also showing interest in secondary private equity funds as errrbody wants be liquid right now.

🤑 The labor market is killing it, consumers are spending it, and inflation in energy is cooling off. If the bond market keeps this up, we'll need a reality check and strong drugs for the inevitable market adjustment hangover.

🤑 Many private equity funds may be in trouble as they struggle to sell their (now) overpriced assets, leaving them to hold the hot steaming bag or take a haircut.

🤑 "Age before access" - Italy lifts ban on ChatGPT after implementing age verification measures and transparency policy.

🤑 The O.G. of Ai, Geoffrey Hinton, has quit Google, sounding off about chatty AI robots and the risk of malicious perps exploiting Ai-for-evil schemes. He joins a long list of folks advocating for a sensible and level-headed path to Ai advancement

🤑 Publicly traded education-technology firm Chegg openly admits ChatGPT is hurting business in its first quarter earnings report. Perhaps they are the first to be so honest with shareholders, can't help wonder how many more of these will we see?
