Hi All!
Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward this along to friends.
What I’m watching
Judo throw by Israpil Sagaipov at the Continental Judo League in Moscow via Rob Amante. It’s not every day that you see a Terminator with b-boy flair. I’m into it.
Experiment that I’m very excited to launch
FTZ Coffee Blend by Four-Arrows Press. This is the first coffee I’ve ever produced myself! I now drink it every morning.
I enlisted the help of world-class experts and tested dozens of variations over many months. After dialing in the sourcing, roasting, and more, this is the combo that finally made me say, “This is the one!” This first run of coffee is limited to 555 bags, and 100% of my proceeds go to the nonprofit Amazon Conservation Team. Check out our strange website.
If a few terms are confusing (Varlata? Dalomai?), the answers can be found in my fantasy fiction podcast series.
Very special thanks to Bellwether Coffee and their all-electric roaster, considered the most sustainable in the world. Its patented closed-loop technology removes 87% of the carbon emissions from coffee roasting, creating the lowest carbon coffee available today. Bellwether roasts the blend for COCKPUNCH™ Coffee with artisan-quality coffee in small batches, enabling it to be served at peak freshness and flavor.
Cheat day goodies I’m savoring
Annas Ginger Thins. Be forewarned that you may eat an entire box in one sitting. Description: “Annas Ginger is the classic Swedish ginger thin that has spread happiness for generations. It’s the perfect choice for parties and traditional festivities or as an enjoyable treat anytime.” Goes very well with… ahem… coffee and a splash of cream.
Graphic novels I’m loving
Something Is Killing the Children, created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera. Colorist Miquel Muerto and letterer AndWorld Design also make the pages sing. Something Is Killing the Children was recommended to me by the incredibly talented Daniel Henriques (Thank you, Daniel!), whose work is definitely worth checking out. I highly suggest getting at least the first three volumes of this series, which only take a few hours to finish. That’s enough to build momentum, to enjoy key pieces of the story arc, and to leave you wanting more. This entire book is very elegant, IMHO. Some comics try to do too much, and all the miscellanea and subplots detract from the experience. Something Is Killing the Children is smooth, easy, and compelling.
Quote I’m pondering
“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring—it was peace.”
— Milan Kundera

You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with my brand-new interview with beloved podcast guest Seth Godin, which covers the pursuit of meaning and hope, overcoming rejection, lessons from Zig Ziglar, choosing your attitude in life, and much more.
And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @tferriss and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
Much love to you and yours,
Tim
P.S. Deal of the Week — House of Macadamias delicious and nutritious nuts!
I love macadamia nuts and have been enjoying them often since keto expert Dr. Dominic D’Agostino recommended them on the podcast in 2015. They taste great, and with more monounsaturated fat (prevalent in the Mediterranean diet) than both olive oil and avocados, 27% fewer grams of carbs than almonds, and more than 50% fewer grams of carbs than cashews, they’re the perfect low-carb, keto-friendly, nutty snack. They’re also rich in rare omega-7s, which promote the natural production of collagen, an essential protein.
House of Macadamias produces the best-tasting macadamia nuts I’ve ever eaten. That’s due, in part, to their location in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa, which provides the ideal temperature, altitude, soil composition, rainwater, and pristine mountain water for growing macadamias. Their founders are a brother and sister team with a macadamia-nut heritage—their grandfather was a macadamia farmer, and their father distributes sustainable irrigation technology. Now, they have partnered with the single largest macadamia producer in the world, comprising 96 independent farmers in South Africa, which gets them first pick of the highest-quality macadamia nuts in the region to make their one-of-a-kind snacks, like their vegan, paleo, and keto-friendly chocolate-dipped macadamias. They really took their time to get these right, folks, with more than two years of flavor testing. I absolutely love them and have to force myself not to polish off several bags at a time. House of Macadamias products are all-natural with no added sugars or oils. Their natural sea-salt macadamias have only two ingredients: premium macadamias and salt from the extraordinary pink Namibian salt lakes.
Now, subscribers of 5-Bullet Friday can use code TIM20 to get 20% off all orders and a free box of their best-selling Namibian sea-salted macadamia nuts worth $35! If these are not the best macadamia nuts you have ever eaten, House of Macadamias will give a full 100% refund, guaranteed. Visit HouseOfMacadamias.com/Tim to discover some of the most delicious and nutritious nuts on the planet.
