Let’s see today’s Newsletter around a Micro SaaS niche. No fluffy content. If your goal is to build a $100m ARR business, this is not the right post. Here I am NOT going to talk about building the next Facebook or Twitter. If your goal is to make a $1K to $10K MRR, continue reading. This post will cover one SaaS area and talk about multiple niches in this space. This post also explains how to do tech implementation, do market analysis, and how the current players are doing, and ends with a cost analysis to understand the overall cost for 100 users. Let’s see some of the players around tools for SEO. ⛳ ⛳ Current players
🙅♀️🙅 PessimistsNegative Nancy says - “Why should founders be worried about SEO so much? They can rely on cold email and Ads too” Me - Yes they can. Cold email and ads take time and money. It’s not that SEO doesn’t need time or money but whatever they do for SEO, it compounds over time and grows your product organically. SEO is more like a long-term game with high returns. Negative Nancy says - “To find my SERP ranking, I can just type in my search keyword on Google and look through the results to find my website” Me - Not a scalable approach if you want to do it every day with thousands of keywords. Also, SERP rankings are based on location. Your search results vary based on the search location. By manually search, you can only find the results from your location and you wouldn’t know how your site is performing for the same keywords in other countries. Automated SERP tracking tools do this at scale for thousands of keywords and hundreds of locations. 💡💡 Deep-dive & Some nichesSEO Audit Tools:SEO is an ever green area where businesses need help all the time. Building a Micro SaaS product around SEO Audit Tools requires a deep understanding of the SEO audit process and the challenges that businesses face when optimizing their website's SEO. The Micro SaaS solution should offer a comprehensive analysis of a website's on-page and off-page SEO, including technical issues, content quality, backlink profile, and more. The tool should focus on accuracy, usability, and data visualization. The tool should provide clear insights and actionable recommendations that help businesses improve their website's SEO performance. Some sample tools in this space are SEOptimer and SEO HERO. The estimated annual revenue of SEOptimer is $ 229.4K. Also note that this can be further niched down to Agencies model as well where agencies can use this for their client websites SEO. SEO Testing (Time based and/or Split-Testing) tool:Time-based testing is one approach to SEO testing, where changes are made to a website over a set period of time, and their impact is measured over that time period. For example, you could test the impact of a new blog post by tracking traffic and engagement metrics over a week or month. Split-testing, also known as A/B testing, involves testing different versions of a website or web page simultaneously to determine which version performs better. For example, you could create two versions of a landing page with different headlines, images, or calls-to-action, and track which version generates more clicks or conversions. Now creating a Micro SaaS tool that helps with both Time-based testing and Split-testing will make it easy for businesses to bet more on SEO. SEOTesting is a good product in this space with more than 2,500 businesses using this for improving SEO. SplitSignal by Semrush is another product in this space especially for Enterprise SEO testing. AI-based SEO-optimized content writer:An AI-based SEO-optimized content writer helps generate SEO rich content and assist with the creation of high-quality, SEO-friendly content. The tool should analyze keywords, topic areas, and other relevant data to help generate content that ranks well in search engine results pages. One of the key advantages of using an AI-based content writer is that it can save a significant amount of time and effort in creating content. Instead of manually researching and writing content, the tool should be able to quickly generate high-quality content based on the keywords and topics provided. The tool should be analyzing search data to identify keywords and phrases that are commonly used by users searching for specific topics. This can help improve the content's visibility in search engine results pages, which can in turn drive more traffic to a website. Frase and Clearscope are two good products in this space. Frase generated nearly $800K in total revenue and added over 8,000 customers in only 28 days after launching on AppSumo in 2020 and received $947K in funding. Clearscope’s estimated annual revenue is $652.5k. Youtube/Video SEO:Video SEO is important because it helps YouTube creators optimize their videos and channel to rank higher in search engine results pages. When creators optimize their videos with relevant keywords, tags, and descriptions, it makes it easier for viewers to find their content. This, in turn, can lead to increased views, engagement, and subscribers for the channel. By using Video SEO best practices, creators can ensure that their videos are visible to the right audience, and that they're reaching their target viewers. This is especially important on YouTube, where there are millions of videos and channels competing for attention. Creating a Micro SaaS products around video SEO can help with all of these. There are some players in this space. For example, see TubeBuddy that provides tools and resources to help YouTube creators optimize their channels and grow their audience. With features like Keyword Explorer, Video SEO, promotion tools, analytics, and A/B testing, creators can improve their video titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails. This helps them reach a wider audience and improve their channel's visibility. More info about TubeBuddy SEO optimizations. TubeBuddy’s estimated annual revenue is $1.4M Build a simple SERP Dashboard tool using existing APIsWhile creating an actual SERP ranking engine could cost hundreds of dollars and a lot of automation and research, you can still create a super simple SERP Dashboard tool using existing APIs like ValueSERP. Most of the existing SERP tools are costly and provide a lot of other functionality at a higher price. Create a Micro SaaS solution that gives only SERP data. Nothing more and nothing less. You can use APIs from ValueSERP and just build your own SERP ranking tool for your customers. This API costs only $1 to $2 for 1000 searches and you can use this API to track the results for your customers and build a dashboard out of this data. If you know a little bit about API querying and building a simple dashboard, do something like this and reach out to the founder with a quick demo. Even if you charge $10/m Micro SaaS around this and get 100 customers, this can take $1K MRR. You can also build a white-label SEO business and sell this to agencies where they can add their branding and see to their customers. 🔒 👉 [Get access to 1000+ additional ideas and more additional ideas in this niche and across all niches from Pro version with data points, revenue information]. 💻 💻 Technical chops Learn technical pointers on how to build products around this niche. 👉 🔒[Pro access] 📢 📢 Marketing chops Learn Marketing pointers on how to start marketing the products for this niche.
