Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #215
powered by endjin
Welcome to the 215th edition of Power BI Weekly! We've had the first Power BI announcement for a short while, which is that Datasets are now in Power BI Mobile apps which means that you can now refresh your datasets also when you're out and about, which I think is pretty cool. Otherwise this week, Marco Russo has described a method to Read active Power BI security roles in DAX and Chris Webb has shared some insights Performance Testing Power BI Direct Lake Mode Datasets In Fabric.
On the endjin front this week, I've continued my E2E Fabric series with the video Ingesting 5GB into a Bronze Lakehouse using Data Factory - Part 3, and my colleague Ian and I got to sit down and speak to Tom Peplow, a Principal & Director of Product Development at Milliman, discussing how to Hedge your Microsoft Fabric Bet in part 1 of a 3 part "Decision Maker's Guide" series. In this video Tom talks about his perspective on this disruptive technology, what its standout features are, and how to overcome the "Fear of Fabric" present in many organizations and teams. Do check it out.
