This week, we’re looking at my top three birthday treats. There was a time where I tried to extend my birthday as long as possible. I wanted to be jubilantly feted on the day and during the week. My husband says there was one year in my twenties where I basically tried to claim the whole month. (That’s probably true.) These days, I don’t care so much. A birthday is just a day. Sure, I want to acknowledge the moment, but I am more chill about it. Birthdays, however, should be celebrated! I think it’s great that everyone can claim a day where they get to do what they want. We should always spoil ourselves when we can. To quote Parks and Rec, “Treat yourself!” There is nothing wrong with deciding that a birthday is where you indulge in whatever makes you happy.
