Good morning.

Today we’re listening to Hollie Kenniff, a Canadian-American multi-instrumentalist and composer. We previously featured her in January 2022. Her new album from February, We All Have Places That We Miss, is “a lush and sprawling ambient-meets-shoegaze record” as Headphone Commute put it. The tracks’ cavernous guitar, textured synth, subdued piano, and wordless vocalizations deliver what this newsletter is in search of: an atmosphere of profundity. We’re also re-upping her 2021 record, The Quiet Drift, which is similarly ethereal and comforting. Both albums feature Kenniff’s voice (no lyrics), which we don’t mind but if it affects your ability to focus let us know – you can reply directly to this email.
