This DIY project trending on TikTok transforms your empty bottles into home decor pieces — and gives you a smashing time in the process. Trust us, after this, you won’t have any bottled up feelings for the week ahead. Here’s how to get started...

• Grab your supplies. You may already have half the supplies at home. All you need is an empty glass bottle (last night’s bottle of wine works), a frame, hammer, and resin. Oh, and for safety, grab a towel. And maybe some protective eye glasses for an extra layer of precaution.

• Start smashing. Lay your frame flat and place your empty bottle on top of it. Cover it with a towel, grab your hammer, and (carefully) take a couple (or more) whacks. Once the bottle is broken, pour your resin over the shards to keep them in place. Let it sit for about 48 hours — and voilà, you have a masterpiece. 

• Get creative. You don’t have to break the bottle. Spice up your next hostess gift with a glitter wine bottle. Or, transform your empty bottle into a vase with some paint. For a more farmhouse look, wrap it up with some twine.
