Tim Ferriss - 5-Bullet Friday — August 11, 2023

Hi All!
Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along if the spirit moves you.
This edition is brought to you by Sundays for Dogs. Be sure to see their offer in the P.S.
What I’m watching
The Biggest Little Farm (Amazon, YouTube). This film first caught my eye with its beautiful trailer. It has a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and here’s the shortened description: “The Biggest Little Farm chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature’s conflicts, the Chesters unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm.” Their story made me reflect on life and “problems” differently.
Songs I’m listening to
“Last Chance” (YouTube, Spotify) by Thornato (@thornatomusic), featuring The Spy from Cairo. But lest you think I’m all Burner tunes, new-agey flutes, and dolphin soundscapes, I’m also listening to “Before I Forget” (YouTube, Spotify) by Slipknot (@slipknot) during workouts.
Audiobook I’m listening to
Coyote America: A Natural and Supernatural History by Dan Flores. So far, this is a great, blended story of cross-cultural myth, field biology, and American history. I’ve taken notes on everything from Teddy Roosevelt to incredible animal adaptations. Humans and coyotes bear some striking similarities as species. Here’s part of the official description: “Despite campaigns of annihilation employing poisons, gases, helicopters, and engineered epidemics, coyotes didn’t just survive, they thrived, expanding across the continent from Anchorage, Alaska, to New York’s Central Park. … An illuminating biography of this extraordinary animal, Coyote America isn’t just the story of an animal’s survival; it is one of the great epics of our time.”
In case you missed it
COCKPUNCH 3D Character Files! I am excited to make the 3D files from the project available to you all in Blender format. These are rotatable and 3D printable (with some tweaking), and there is a lot you can do with them. Feel free to create photo shoots, rig them, and otherwise go nuts. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Tag me at @tferriss or @cockpunch on Twitter and share your creations and comments. My team will be retweeting some of our favorites.
Quote I’m pondering
“Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator. But among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh.”
— W. H. Auden

You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with this blooper reel, my interview with wildlife ecologist Mike Phillips, and this clip of writer Seth Godin sharing his favorite audiobooks.
And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @tferriss and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
Much love to you and yours,
Tim
P.S. Deal of the Week — Sundays for Dogs, ultra-high-quality dog food without the prep or mess.
I want to give my pooch, Molly, the best of everything. This is especially true when it comes to the ingredient quality of her food. But most healthy dog foods are an expensive, frozen mess. They’re a hassle to thaw and serve, and the prep work eats up time I’d rather spend hiking with Molly. Sundays for Dogs solves my problem with air-dried, high-quality dog food I can store and pour right from my pantry.
The magic behind Sundays for Dogs is in their proprietary air-drying method. To lock in nutrients, they gently dry the meat, low and slow. Unlike other dry brands, which are filled with hyper-processed grains and synthetic vitamins, Sundays for Dogs uses only all-natural poultry and USDA-grade beef. Meat makes up 90% of their recipes. The other 10% are fruits and veggies, ingredients you’d find at the farmer’s market and not at the pharmacy.
Sundays for Dogs and I have worked out a special deal just for my subscribers. Get 35% off your first order of Sundays for Dogs by going to SundaysForDogs.com/TIM or by using code TIM at checkout. Upgrade your pup to Sundays for Dogs and feel great about the food you feed your best friend.
