Create a secure fit with 1Password policies

Hi there,

Employees don't want to violate security protocols. When they do, it's often a result of stress – or simply trying to get things done. The trick is to put the right guardrails in place so employees don't have to think about protocol. Ideally, they can just go about their work.

Today, we've made it a little easier to put those guardrails in place. With the new policies page, you can now govern how and where employees use 1Password, all from one place.

The new policies page is accessible from the sidebar on 1Password.com. From there, 1Password Business admins can configure:

  • Authentication policies like account password and two-factor authentication requirements.
  • App usage policies like vault editing and item sharing permissions.
  • Firewall policies to allow or deny sign-in attempts based on certain criteria.
  • Unlock with Identity Provider policies to integrate 1Password with a supported identity provider.

We’re also actively working to expand those guardrails by adding new policies so you can configure 1Password to your exact specifications.

To learn how to create, manage, and enforce policies to govern how and where employees use 1Password at scale, visit the 1Password blog.

Look for more policies to be added in the near future. Have a specific policy option you'd like to see added? We're listening.
