Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #221
powered by endjin
Welcome to the 221st edition of Power BI Weekly! A jam-packed edition for some reason this week! To start, the Power BI August 2023 Feature Summary was released, including a new layout switcher to quickly toggle between desktop and mobile views, XMLA Write support for Direct Lake datasets and the ability to Choose a launch item for your Power BI mobile app. We've also been told about the significant improvement of the communication performance of XMLA-based tools, and there's an exciting new feature related to Dynamic subscriptions for paginated reports (Preview).
Elsewhere this week, I've continued my Microsoft Fabric E2E demo, this time talking about Local OneLake Tools. Finally, Štěpán Rešl has written an informative piece on Personal Workspaces in Times of Fabric, describing how they're just as useful as ever, but their governance is also just as important as ever. Do take a read!
