Issue 281 - FSD v12 preview

FSD

FSD Beta v11.4.7 📹
During this drive with 11.4.7, the car didn't nag the driver even once. Eye tracking still seems to be in place according to several people, and the car performed really well. I can't wait to experience this version!

FSD Beta 11.4.7 camera improvements ðŸ“¹
With FSD beta 11.4.7, Tesla appears to have incorporated enhancements in video processing to showcase more accurate colors, rather than the orange-tinted version displayed previously.

FSD v12 preview 📹
Elon held his phone and filmed while driving, livestreaming on Twitter. In the video, the car made some mistakes, such as almost running a red light and driving in the wrong lane. On the positive side, it seemed to handle roundabouts well and appeared smoother. In v12, Tesla is replacing much of the code that manages vehicle controls with neural nets. This version is still in internal testing, and based on the video, it seems it needs further refinement before a public release.

Superchargers

Diner and drive-in movie Supercharger in LA
Tesla has received permit approval for its Diner and Drive-In Movie Supercharger project in Los Angeles. Initially planned for Santa Monica but subsequently relocated to Hollywood, the project will boast 32 Supercharger stalls, a restaurant with rooftop seating, and two movie screens showcasing iconic clips. It's a fantastic setup for a Supercharger!

Cybertruck

Cybertruck, incoming 📷
Two semitrucks, each transporting four Cybertrucks, were spotted by a Redditor and their son in Texas. Where are they headed? It's likely they're en route to showrooms across the country.

Production candidate Cybertruck 📷
Elon recently test drove the Cybertruck production candidate at Giga Texas and shared an impressive photo. Following this, he observed some quality issues and promptly sent an email to Tesla employees emphasizing the need for enhanced quality precision. I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to see the final product in person!

HW4

HW4 FSD to lag HW3 by at least 6 more months
Elon mentioned on Twitter that owners with HW4 cars should anticipate FSD to lag behind what HW3 can achieve for at least another 6 months. Tesla's current focus is on optimizing FSD for HW3 and expanding its release to more countries.

Tesla vehicles with HW4 recieve FSD Beta ðŸ“·
For the first time, HW4 cars are receiving a version that includes FSD Beta. As Elon mentioned in his earlier tweet, we should anticipate HW4 cars trailing behind HW3 vehicles for several more months. However, it's exciting to see some versions being rolled out to them already!

Semi

Pepsi’s Semi fleet tour ðŸ“¹
PepsiCo's Sacramento facility has adopted an eco-friendly approach by deploying a fleet of 21 Tesla Semis, powered by 4,750 kW chargers, for transporting beverages across Northern California. Specifically, they prioritize routes that are under 100 miles daily. The video highlights their array of Tesla Semis and underscores their dedication to sustainability and cutting down emissions.

🤓 What the Acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
  • HW3: Autopilot Hardware version 3
  • HW4: Autopilot Hardware version 4
