This relatively new true crime podcast takes a decidedly different approach to the true crime genre, by specifically focusing on exploring tales of men who for one crazy reason or another, decided to kill their families. I love seeing podcasts like this one that take an oversaturated genre and find a novel niche inside it.

Dark, and certainly not for the faint of heart, this podcast has a lot of promise as it makes its way into the pantheon of high-quality true crime shows you should add to your listening queue.

• Lex Fridman released an episode of his podcast with Mark Zuckerberg in which they did the entire show inside the metaverse. It honestly looks incredible, though I wonder how many years away this technology is from becoming mainstream.

• The British podcast awards have named their winners.

• An interesting new AI-powered podcast summarization tool. Going to give this a story.

• Google announced this week that they are killing Google Podcasts sometime in 2024 and are rolling podcast listening functionality into YouTube Music. I’m still not entirely sure how to feel about this, except that it’s another example of the way Google kills products and also, who is going to want YouTube ads in front of their podcasts?

• Podcast producer Podglomerate are hiring a Lead Producer for their service which sounds like a good opportunity for anyone with experience in this space.

• Spotify announced an AI voice tool that will allow podcasters to have their own voice translated into different languages for release in other countries. Pretty amazing opportunity for podcasters to expand their reach.

• If you’re responsible for your brand’s podcast efforts, here’s a useful article talking about what podcast format works best for brands.

• Edison Research has released a new UK podcast ranker.

• Apparently Australia is the top podcast listening country?!

• Tips for how to run a great interview podcast.
