As we write this email, Gaza’s Health Ministry is reporting that Israel’s attack has killed more than 8,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children.

By the time this email reaches you, the number of civilians killed will almost surely be even higher.

Israel has blockaded food, water, and medicine. Hospitals don’t have electricity. A near-total internet and telephone blackout left Gaza cut off from the rest of the world for days.

According to many experts in international law, these are war crimes. Yet in far too much of the U.S. media, there is one dominant viewpoint represented: complete, unambiguous support for Israel.

Criticism of Israel’s attack on Gaza has been widespread around the world.

Experts in international law warn that it could be a genocide. Amnesty International research “points to damning evidence of war crimes in Israel’s bombing campaign.” The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

But in the U.S. media, such denunciations are rarely even acknowledged. Peaceful protesters against Israel’s war crimes are routinely denounced as antisemitic or terrorist supporters.
