⭐️ What Spotify's New Royalty Model Really Means

While “two-thirds of the songs on Spotify will not qualify for payment” is certainly an alarming headline, some perspective is necessary. First, it needs to be stressed just how little money 1,000 streams generate: As noted by Graziano, 1,000 streams in a 12-month period accounts for $3 in earnings at most — far below what most distributors will bother paying out without a fee significantly more than $3. Yet, many distributors simply hang onto that money — thousands of artists earnings $3 does add up — and it earns interest for them rather than the artist.

⭐️ Spotify Wins CNCF Top End User Award for the Second Time!

This week at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon in Chicago, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation announced that Spotify won their Top End User Award. This is the second time we’ve received the honor, having previously won the award in 2021 — and we are even more proud this time around as it’s a testament to our continued commitment to the cloud native ecosystem and open source community. 

⭐️ Spotify's Premium-tier audiobooks are now available in the US

Spotify estimated that this is around two average audiobooks, with 10-hour top-ups available for longer listens. As with the original launch, Spotify claims to have “over 70% of bestselling titles” available in its catalogue.
