We’re reporting on Israel’s scorched-earth campaign in Gaza. Will you donate $5?

When asked about the chances of a ceasefire, President Joe Biden replied, “None. No possibility.” Instead, Biden continues to support a massive increase in military aid to Israel while keeping these weapons transfers shrouded in secrecy.

The death toll in Gaza has now reached over 11,000 people. Hospitals, ambulance convoys, schools, and refugee camps have been bombed. The health sector in Gaza is on the verge of total collapse. The U.N. secretary-general describes Gaza as a “graveyard for children.”

But when asked on Thursday about the chances of a ceasefire, President Joe Biden replied, “None. No possibility.”

Instead, Biden continues to support a massive increase in military aid to Israel while keeping these weapons transfers shrouded in secrecy. Arms control experts tell The Intercept the administration’s likely aim is to prevent U.S. weapons from being linked to civilian casualties.

The Intercept is committed to exposing the brutality of Israel’s scorched-earth campaign in Gaza and the U.S. support that makes this violence possible.

Will you donate $5 to support The Intercept and our ongoing reporting on the war in Gaza?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly declared his goal to punish civilians in Gaza for Hamas’s attacks on October 7.

As the Palestinian–Israeli citizen and political analyst Yousef Munayyer told The Intercept’s Jeremy Scahill, Israel’s endgame is the “mass depopulation” of Gaza. Already, 1.5 million Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes. One proposal circulated within the Israeli government calls for transferring the entire Gaza population to Egypt.

The U.S. government is complicit in the ongoing assault on Gaza — as is much of the U.S. news media, which refuses to hold Israel or the Biden administration accountable.

That’s why, now more than ever, we’re asking readers to support the unflinching reporting of The Intercept. Will you chip in $5?

Yes, I’ll donate $5.
