Many dashboards lack a cohesive narrative, or a clear central point. If you want key stakeholders, social media followers, or colleagues to find a dashboard valuable, begin with the end in mind.

Ask, "what question will this dashboard answer?" Then, ruthlessly cut what doesn't. Here's an example of a dashboard that does this. Its simplicity may surprise you.
