4 Day Week - 45 Jobs with a 4 Day Week 🚀

A recent 4 day-week pilot (30hrs @ 100% salary), carried out by 450 employees at South Cambridgeshire council, was described as "overwhelmingly positive."

Here's the results:

• Business KPIs: no change
• Money saved: $933k, due to less agency hiring
• Staff health: +15%
• Job applications: +41%
• "Good days at work": +13%
• Operational costs: reduced
• Employee retention: improved
• Childcare: "dramatically improved"
• Employees who want to return to 5 days: 2%

Despite the great results, the UK government has told the council to return to 5 days / week 😡

Why? My guess:

"5 day work week? It's the way we've always done it."

Thankfully though, this conservative mindset is slowly changing 💪
