Flow State - Vladislav Delay
Flow State recommends music to work to Monday-Friday. To get our Tuesday mixes and unlock our daily playlists, become a subscriber. Good morning. Flow State recently turned 5, and we made a T-shirt printed with all the artists we’ve recommended to date. The shirt is available here and selling out in some sizes. It’s Friday so we’re listening to something slightly more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Vladislav Delay, a Finnish electronic music producer. Born in 1976, he started as a drummer and then got into the mechanics of digital music production.¹ He’s made influential solo music and contributed to monumental works like The Revenant soundtrack. We’re focusing on his album Entain, from 2000, a super dubby, textural record. In a 2020 Pitchfork article, the greatPhilip Sherburne described Entain’s tracks as “silvery streaks of tone [that] flash like shoals of fish above floor-shaking bass pulses.” That’s what you’re in for. Entain - Vladislav Delay (80m, no vocals) Have a sick weekend. |
