Do not do this practice on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It’s essential to complete any reflection and planning practices without technology. 

Tip: Print off an extra package for your significant other and block out time to complete your booklets together. Once you’re done, share with each other.

Step 2: The Timeline Practice

The Timeline Practice Instructions

1. Grab a legal-sized sheet of paper and your favourite pen.

2. Position the paper in landscape orientation and draw a timeline down the middle.

3. Label it with months or quarters — whatever makes sense to you.

4. Think about your year in seasons. Sketch out what you want your life to look like in each of those seasons (months or quarters).

   1. What are your main priorities for each period?

   2. What kind of person do you wish to become?

   3. Where are you going to be geographically? 

   4. What experiences do you want to have?

   5. What people will you be with?

5. Update through the year as your priorities change and plans come to fruition.

Step 3: Bonus Questions and Practices

The following reflection practices are optional, but I’ve found them to be extremely beneficial in my own life.

Experiment, apply what you find to be useful, and discard the rest.
