Odd Jobs - Get paid $180k to go to the bathroom
When you write a newsletter called Odd Jobs, the people who love you the most love to send you the oddest things they find on the internet. Truly, thank goodness for them. I always need ideas for this newsletter so share your odd stories, articles, and jobs with me in the comments below. But a few days ago, a few of my besties sent me a video about how one woman makes a few thousand dollars a month by selling her poop. Yes, poop. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to talk about poop on the internet. But I’m a first-time mom and for the last 10-months, cleaning up poop has been a huge part of my day-to-day life. My mom friends and I regularly talk about color, shape, size of our babie’s poop. Some send me photos of their baby’s poop. That’s normal in the mom world, TBH. So of course I saw the video and rushed over here to tell you all about how you can make money from a taboo, but normal, and hopefully regular thing, you are already doing. But first, a few quick odd things from my brain to yours:
Make $180,000 Selling Your PoopI watched every single TikTok video out there about how the heck you can earn money from the stuff that comes out of your butt. The TLDR answer is this: You can earn up to $180,000 per year by donating your poop to science. Here’s how: Basically, you are giving your poop for science and research purposes rather than just flushing it down the toilet. According to HumanMicrobes.org, you can provide your stool for FMT (Fecal microbiota transplants) and research. You can earn up to $500 per poop. The website shares that if you are pooping one time a day, it can earn you $180,000 a year.
However, donating your poop isn’t the easiest odd job to snag. The website shared a list of qualifications. Aside from being healthy and under 30-years-old, you also have to have a specific type of poop. The ask you to fill out a very long, detailed, and personal questionnaire. It asks you intimate questions. For example, it wants to know how you were birthed, if you were breastfed, and what consistency your poop usually is. The questionnaire is three pages long. They transparently say that less than 0.1% of people have the type of poop they need. If you want to dive into this more, you can read more on their website. Here’s another place you can get paid for poop too. One more place! If you end up doing this, please please please let me know! *I always like to say that I’m legally not supporting or promoting any of the odd jobs mentioned in these newsletters. Apply for them or try them at your own risk. Do your own research too. This is just a newsletter from one odd gal talking about odd jobs…that’s it!* The Odd List of Random ThingsI built these AI tools and am super proud of them.
