Last week, we featured a piece from a concerned parent in Seattle that was critical of a policy in the typically liberal area. The piece generated a great deal of feedback, mostly supportive. This week we have a piece that should complement that one nicely. Writing critically from the now conservative state of Florida, new Tangle reader Steve Hough gives his best argument in favor of open primaries. He shares a compelling story from his home state, and gives us a bit of criticism for not covering this issue enough in 2023.

On our issue covering the results of the New Hampshire primaries, reader Elizabeth O shared her thoughts, which garnered a lot of support from other readers:

The only thing more depressing than Trump winning New Hampshire is that close to 65,000 democrats turned out to write in Joe Biden's name in a race that the Democrats are not even counting because they determined those voters are too white or something. I am a conservative libertarian independent, but the message and demeanor and personal story of Dean Phillips seems to be just what our country needs. Sadly he could only get interviewed by Fox and News Nation (a network I find somewhat refreshing other than Chris Cuomo). I hope Nikki and Dean stay the course to be a thorn in the side of the machines or something more if something yet unknown happens and wakes people up.
