Software Updates

Tesla to add support for adaptive high-beams in existing vehicles
Tesla is set to enable adaptive high-beam support in existing Model Y and Model 3 with matrix headlights. With this update, Tesla extends the functionality previously released in the new Model 3 to older models, enhancing nighttime driving visibility and safety. The approval currently covers the Model 3 and Model Y, with expectations that the Model S and Model X will receive similar updates later. This development follows Tesla's ongoing efforts to retrofit advanced lighting technology across its vehicle lineup.

Model 3

How far can the new Tesla Model 3 really go and what does that cost? 📹
In this real-world test of the new Model 3, it impressively achieves over 320 miles on a trip with three passengers and heating, showcasing better highway efficiency than anticipated. As a comparison, the previous Long Range version delivers around 300 miles per charge at an efficiency of 4.5 miles per kilowatt-hour.

2024 Tesla Model 3 Refresh: The perfect starter EV! 📹
MKBHD got to spend some time with the new Model 3, his conclusion? It's a great car. He even calls it the 'mini Model S,' definitely a great option for those looking for a cheaper alternative than the S.

Incentives

Transfer your FSD or free Supercharging in Q1
Tesla is incentivizing current owners to purchase a new Tesla by allowing them to transfer free Supercharging or FSD for free with the trade-in of a current Tesla towards the purchase of a new one.

Cybertruck

The Cybertruck resists a steel ball test this time 📹
We all remember the not one, but two window shatters during the unveiling of the Cybertruck by Franz throwing a steel ball. It was a matter of time until some brave new owner decided to test their car; in this case, they used what seemed like a smaller steel ball, and the window didn't break!

Tesla Cybertruck could be headed to Germany soon
First of all, this is only for a tour, similar to the one in China. Either way, I'm sure people over there will be excited to see it in person. I have to say that pickup trucks aren't the most popular vehicles in Europe; for one, they are pretty big for most cities over there, and also, part of their usefulness, an open bed to carry long objects, isn't something that is allowed in most countries.

Country Updates

Tesla landed in Chile 📷
Orders are now open, and Tesla has installed kiosks in Santiago where people can experience the cars. For now, only the Model 3 and the Model Y can be ordered, and the estimated delivery date is April - May. Dale, revísalo!

Tesla China has launched Model Y HW4 📷
We usually see changes first in China and then coming to the USA, but for HW4, it went the other way around. This week it was announced that Model Ys in China will now come with Autopilot HW4. Tesla's HW4 features much higher resolution cameras than HW3, providing superior visual detail recognition. HW4 also includes a more powerful computer and additional camera ports.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • EV: Electric Vehicle
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
  • HW3: Autopilot Hardware version 3
  • HW4: Autopilot Hardware version 4
