Flow State - Fabiano do Nascimento
Flow State recommends instrumental music every weekday, highlighting an artist who inspires music appreciation in this age of algorithms. If you enjoy Flow State, consider becoming a paid member – that unlocks our weekly Tuesday mixes and private Spotify playlists. Good morning. Today we’re listening to Fabiano do Nascimento, a Brazilian guitarist from Rio de Janeiro. He picked up piano at a very young age but fell in love with the guitar at 10.¹ He moved to Los Angeles and, since 2015, has put out nine LPs including several collaborative ones. His latest record is The Room, a collaboration with Los Angeles-based saxophonist and two-time Flow State recomendee Sam Gendel. Nascimento and Gendel previously collaborated on the 2017 record Tempo dos Mestres, and their familiarity comes through in the elegant pas de deux between seven-string guitar and cool soprano sax. We’re also playing Mundo Solo from November, which Nascimento recorded at home in 2020 on 6-, 7-, and 10-string guitars as well as synths. The Room - Fabiano do Nascimento & Sam Gendel (30m, no vocals) Mundo Solo - Fabiano do Nascimento (50m, no vocals) Have a great Thursday. |
