How the Justice Tarot Card Reflects the Consequences of the Return to Nature Funeral Home ScandalThe horrible actions of the Halfords caught up with them.I don't know about you, but the one word to describe how I feel after hearing about the Return to Nature Funeral Home scandal is flabbergasted and highly disturbed (three words actually). Anyone who is not a psychopath or clinically narcissistic would feel the same. I will share the gruesome details if you have not heard about it. Or, if you are affected by it personally, words cannot express how sorry I am, and you may want to skip reading this if it is too painful. I will compare this situation to the Justice tarot card, which is perfect for this. The Justice Tarot CardThe Justice tarot card concerns fairness, balance, and cause and effect. This is the card that represents karmic results and takes responsibility for actions. For example, it can indicate that you're currently experiencing a time of equilibrium in your life or are progressing toward achieving it. The Justice tarot card generally suggests seeking fairness and justice in all your dealings, as the card is associated with Libra. It is the 11th tarot card in most decks, as 11 is a Master Number indicating that you need balance, truth, and fairness to achieve spiritual growth. In some decks, it is the eighth card, which would work, too, as eight represents karma. You can trace the history of the Justice tarot card back to ancient times. The card is believed to represent fairness, balance, and law. In addition, early decks were often depicted as a woman holding a scale in one hand and a sword. Now, let's go over other meanings associated with this card. This tarot card also often indicates a need for discipline and restraint. It would be best to be careful not to overindulge or act impulsively. The Justice tarot card can also suggest that you must take a closer look at your actions - are you treating others fairly, and are you living in line with your values? This tarot card also often indicates that you're being tested somehow. For example, the test could relate to your ethics or morality or a more general character exam. For example, the Justice tarot card asks you to be fair, honest, and conscientious in your dealings with others and yourself. The justice tarot card may guide the best action if facing a difficult decision. It often suggests that you should weigh all the options carefully before choosing and do what's fair and proper, regardless of the consequences. If the Justice tarot card appears in your reading, it's a sign that you should take a step back and reassess the situation. Make sure that you're acting with integrity and treating others fairly. The Justice tarot card is a reminder always to do the right thing. The Justice tarot card can offer insight if you're looking for clues about a particular situation. For example, it might suggest that someone is deceitful or that you must take a more balanced approach to a problem. This card can signify that things will start to even out soon if you feel out of balance. You also need to speak your truth and live your truth! No matter what's going on in your life, the Justice tarot card always reminds you to seek fairness and justice. Be honest with yourself and others, and do what's right, even when it's complicated. It signifies that things will eventually work out in your favor if you stay true to your principles. However, the Halfords, the owners of Return to Nature Funeral Home, did not do that. They did what was not just wrong but hurtful, and they are getting their comeuppance (though the punishment is not bad enough; that is how the legal system is). The Return to Nature Funeral Home ScandalBy now, the Return to Nature Funeral Home of Colorado scandal has been circulated enough that started in October 2023 for the world to know. However, if you do not know about this horrific story, Jon and Carie Halford, the funeral home owners of Return to Nature Funeral Home, stole money from grieving families that were meant to bury or cremate their loved ones for years since 2019, only to leave these families' loved ones to decompose in an abandoned home far away while they used the money to create a dream life they had wanted for themselves. Funeral homeowners and directors of Colorado mortuary Return to Nature (which is now non-existent) had apparent plans to create their dream life together at the expense of the grieving families who hired them to bury or cremate their loved ones. They did not even consider the consequences they'd face. They focused on living the high life, such as taking luxurious trips, experiencing luxurious dining and excursions, buying expensive cars, and living it big. And they made it work. They took that money meant for burial and cremation and used it for themselves to live their dream. They had a plan. They had an abandoned home that was in the middle of nowhere (so the odor of decay would be as "minimal" as possible), where they planned to dump the bodies that were meant to be buried or cremated. However, they had a plan for their "cremations." They purchased concrete to grind up from Home Depot and give to loved ones. And their plan worked for a few years anyway. From 2019 to 2023 (excluding the pandemic limitations between 2020 and 2021), the Halfords created that dream life they used to travel, as they went on luxurious trips to places such as California and Las Vegas. They even spent $1,500 on a gourmet meal in Las Vegas together. They purchased two vehicles, a GMC Yukon and an Infiniti. They also invested in cryptocurrencies, shopped at high-end outlets such as Tiffany and Gucci, and did laser body sculpting. However, justice came into the picture, and in October 2023, they were found in Oklahoma, where they were arrested. Punishments for what they did (190 courts of abuse of a corpse, four counts of money laundering, five counts of theft), and more than 50 courts of forgery) are not severe enough, sadly. However, that is how the legal system is in many parts of the world, and the USA is no exception. The crematorium also sued them for not paying them for the services they provided. Either way, the Justice tarot card represents the situation. The Halfords created a massive imbalance by stealing money from the grieving families and not paying the crematorium so they could use that money for living a high life, and they did not care about how their actions affected anyone. Eventually, karma happened; they were caught and are now paying the price for what they did. Again, it may not be an ideal punishment, but they still have to face what they did. Even if the legal system is not doing enough, they have created a lot of negative karma with those impacted on various levels. Their reputation is forever ruined. Let's now look at the cards the Justice card has esoteric relations to. Other Tarot Cards That Have an Esoteric Tie to JusticeLibra rules Justice, as that sign is all about balance, and Venus rules Libra, which is the planet ruling harmony and peace. Venus is associated with the Empress, and the Empress can only express her love and nurturing if she feels balanced, as you already know that self-care will allow you to care for and nurture others. You can even say that since Justice is the 11th card when you reduce the Master Number to 11/2, there you have the High Priestess. Justice is about creating balance by doing the correct thing. But your intuition leads you to do what you know is best; that is where the High Priestess comes in. The High Priestess represents your hidden motivations for your actions, which results in the cause and effect. You also have three Minor Arcana cards that have a distant relation to Justice. The Two of Swords is associated with the Moon in Libra, representing indecision, and the only way you can decide is to balance the pros and cons of both sides so you can see the best option. The Three of Swords is associated with Saturn in Libra, a sorrowful card. As a hurtful or heartbreaking situation occurs, there would be grief and heartache, which indicates cause and effect, which is what the Justice card indicates. Finally, the Four of Swords, associated with Jupiter in Libra, indicates recovery and rest so you can create a balance again. There is my take on the Justice card, and next week, I will go over the Hanged Man. You’re currently a free subscriber to Miriam Reads Tarot . For the full experience, upgrade your subscription.
