Flow State - Nils Frahm
Flow State recommends instrumental music every weekday, highlighting an artist who inspires music appreciation in this age of algorithms. Today we’re listening to Nils Frahm, a German pianist and composer based in Berlin. We’ve recommended him four times before this. Born in Hamburg in 1982, he grew up studying piano and audio engineering.¹ He fuses those two techniques in his original music, which presents acoustic piano close-up. His new album, Day, just out this past Friday, demonstrates this signature style: the six delicate pieces sound like an intimate, impromptu performance in a late-night living room. We’re also re-upping Frahm’s 2019 album, All Encores, which is a more daytime-sounding compilation of touching solo piano. Day - Nils Frahm (30m, no vocals) All Encores - Nils Frahm (80m, no vocals) Have a really nice Wednesday. |
