Bustle - Da’Vine Joy Randolph Is A Winner, Baby!

Like I said, don’t sleep only my girl! Though award show season was long and extremely predictable, it has been a gift to watch Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s star continue to rise. Not only are the fashions fashioning, they’ve become a personal point of reference. Her Vanity Fair Oscar Party look takes me back to my black lipstick phase senior year of college. Nearly 10 years later, I think might be time to bring it back. And I am of course sporting a baby blue gown to my next big event — more on that next week. In the meantime, listen to to Da’Vine go deep on her craft on It’s Been A Minute with one of my favorite interviewers, Brittany Luse. It is an absolute a treat and makes it all the more exciting to see what she does next.

Though I’m happy to see Black country music getting more shine and to learn a new line dance, I can’t say that this new album excites me. Though the aesthetics are top tier (per usual) based on the first two singles, I don’t know that Beyoncé has sent her best. We’ll see!
