That’s the idea behind Interview.study, a tool developed by a solo-preneur offering a vast array of options for the best preparation.

Candidates receive instant feedback on their resumes, on likely questions based on a job listing, etc.

Personal long-term financial planning 🇨🇭

Managing one's budget with multiple bank accounts is already done by apps like Bankin. However, financial planning over the lifespan (over 5 / 10 / 20 / 40 years) is not yet well addressed.

Yet, it's interesting to see the impact a small reduction in expenses can have over years. Or on the contrary, see the impact of having a third child.

That's the idea behind Finwiseapp. The founders, Nicol Vojacek and Jason Russell, launched FinWise in February 2023, aiming to provide an accessible and practical management tool.

The platform offers classic features such as budgeting, and analysis of expenses and income. But also helps to forecast in the long-term and assist in decision making.

We're still at the beginning, so the tool isn't generating a lot of revenue yet, but we think there's a tool to be created between a simple expense management app (Bankin) and a complex Excel spreadsheet for financial forecasting like businesses do…

Reel Editing as a Service 🇧🇷

We’ve already told you about Designjoy in a previous newsletter, and here’s another company following the same revenue model (we really believe in this revenue model).

The concept of Imperius Films is to offer a subscription service for video editing (mostly social media videos).

You pay for an "unlimited" subscription, and you can request video edits (it’s unlimited but not really unlimited, perhaps the term needs revising).

But fundamentally, the benefits are that:
- These are rather recurring clients (not just a one-off task).
- It’s paid per task, not by the hour/day.
- It’s quite well-paid since you pay 1 month in advance.
- You can work faster once you have a standard video editing template (or a dozen, let's say).

This revenue model is becoming increasingly popular, perhaps because it represents a compromise between a fixed and recurring amount (the "employee" model), the freedom of freelance, and the efficiency of products (selling a sort of service packaged as a product, a "productivized service").
