New Music

Some of our favorite recent releases.

Brian recommends...

Southwark

Yumi Zouma

I included a Yumi Zouma song a few issues ago, but the new album is finally out! There are honestly too many good songs to include, but this is one of the standouts.

Ray recommends...

Crush

The Birthday Massacre

I love The Birthday Massacre but don't really follow them. Turns out they released a new album last month!

Brian recommends...

Daze Inn

Carlie Hanson

Maybe a little more mainstream than my usual choices, but I find this song really chill and catchy.

Ray recommends...

Caution

The Killers

Another song with an 80s type feel to it, or maybe I'm just old and everything seems that way.

New to You and Throwbacks

These are some our favorites that are not necessarily new.

Brian recommends...

Will You Dance

The Bird and the Bee

Let's take a trip back to 2015 this issue. I'd been a fan of the Bird and the Bee for ages, but this was probably my favorite song they'd ever released. Plus, the official video features Howard Wolowitz and Remy from Ratatouie.

Ray recommends...

Compulsion

Martin L. Gore

From the 1989 EP by Depeche Mode member, Martin Gore. The whole EP is pretty darn good, but I didn't care for his second one at all.

Brian recommends...

Ghosts

Made in Heights

My other favorite song from 2015 was by this obscure and short-lived duo. The album with this song was only their second, but also their final release. It's still well worth listening to the full album.

Ray recommends...

Darkness

Du Tonc

I discovered this via SoundCloud a few years ago and absolutely love it.
